Port Douglas Restraunts
If you fancy yourself as a bit of an epicurean, you will be pleasantly surprised with the Port Douglas holiday experience. Although this tropical resort town is far removed from the bright lights of the big city, you'll find it has quite an eclectic and cosmopolitan vibe, which is reflected in its range of dining delights.
You'll find most of the action in Australia's Port Douglas centred around tree-lined and tropical Macrossan Street and the newest and hippest joint on the block is Zinc. Open from breakfast through to dinner, this fine Port Douglas dining establishment offers everything from fusion cuisine to tapas to cocktails and is the perfect spot to be seen.
Salsa Bar and Grill, set in a traditional old Queensland style building, is also a great spot to chill out with a cocktail and some fabulous food and watch the world go by.
As you would expect, being so close to the Great Barrier Reef, there are a number of restaurants in Port Douglas serving fabulous seafood. 2 Fish, just off Macrossan, not only has a lovely open vibe, but also serves some of the best local seafood available.
For a more casual dining experience, you could try Soul 'n Pepper. This picturesque Port Douglas restaurant is located practically on the shores of the Dickson Inlet and offers a range of favourites including local seafood, salads and burgers.
Finally, one Port Douglas dining experience not to be missed is Nautilus Restaurant. A secluded rainforest path leads you away from the main strip to an unforgettable 5-star alfresco affair to remember.
